Nursery in Sopot

IDEA Sopot is a unique place on the map of Poland. It owes its unique character not not only its location - beaches, forests and rich tourist offer, but also the architecture. The history of the seaside resort is reflected in the traditional buildings- beautiful townhouses and villas, green alleys and squares that create an intimate, unique character of this place. In our concept we decided to emphasize what, in our opinion, gives the plot of land which is the subject of the competition its unique character. Greenery and nature. Being on a site visit, this is what sank deeply into our memory. The color of the green grass, beautiful and old trees and shrubs - creating an amazing idyllic atmosphere. Ceramic roofs. Walking through the surrounding streets, we noticed the ubiquitous ceramic roofs, giving a traditional character and intimate atmosphere to the whole area. Stone. The surrounding stream, whose banks are fortified with stones and boulders in conjunction with the name of the Sopot Kamienny Potok - also seemed to us worth taking into account. The combination of these materials gives a surprising and creative result - the building 100% arises from the immediate surroundings and the context of the place. The main entrance is emphasized by an overhang referring to traditional arcades. The divisions on the facade made of veneer stone veneer refer to the building of the existing kindergarten with a half-timbered structure. The roof was covered with ceramic tiles, giving the building a local and intimate character. The object has been linked to the surroundings by means of an intimate public space along Obodrzyńców Street with a fountain and small architecture.
